For me, painting is exhilarating ... a new found freedom. As a graphic designer, I spent much of my career creating complex documents on a computer. Becoming an abstract artist wasn't the most likely next step. Yet the complete freedom to express my feelings through colors, shapes, textures and their relationships is delightful. I start each painting with nothing particular in mind; ideas spark with the use of different tools and marks, and with each layer new dimensions bring clarity to the emerging concept. Each painting is a journey that evolves on it’s own. I hope my excitement for each subject shows through to the viewer as it does for me.

My paintings fall into two categories: Abstractions and Portraits.
